God of peace and rest,
The parched landscape of the desert
yearns for the spring rains
that bring life and beauty
to an otherwise barren land.
My soul yearns for Sabbath,
a rest that refreshes
and renews my barren soul,
that lays aside useless cares
and finds new hope in you.
