Prayer for Holy Saturday

Was creation in despair
on that single day in history
when Nietzsche’s word
rang true?

The tomb is sealed,
the body is cold,
and heaven mourns
at what we have done.

God is dead,
and we have killed him.

Lord, have mercy.
